8TH GRADE UNIVERSAL STUDIOS TRIP
Attention 8th graders - Universal Studios tickets are on sale on now. The tickets will be available on the LCMS student webstore, or through the front office with cash or check.
All students attending will need to complete a field trip permission slip. Slips can be picked up in the student store at lunch or through the front office. All completed field trip permission slips must be returned to the front office with payment, or receipt showing that it was paid online.
TRIP DETAILS:
Date is Friday, May 17th
Students leave LCMS around 9:45 am and will return around 10pm that night
Tickets are $95 and include ticket, transportation, a meal voucher, and a souvenir bag)
No Season passes will be honored for this event
The TURN-IN DEADLINE is MARCH 28TH (before Spring Break), tickets will be available to purchase through March 28th.

2024 GET AHEAD SUMMER SCHOOL CLASSES
Attention 8th Grade Families -
The Conejo Schools Foundation will once again be offering Get Ahead Summer School classes for Summer 2024. Please see the attached flier for the available courses, cost of taking a class, and when classes begin and end. Registration opens on February 1st, click on flyer to register.

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC FUNDRAISER - FEB. 20 & 21
Support LCMS Instrumental Music Program by eating at Fusion Grill on February 20th & 21st. Dine in and take out during 11am to 3pm (lunch hours) and 4:30pm - 8pm (dinner hours). Fusion Grill will donate 20% of sales to the LCMS Music Program.
PTSA RESTAURANT FUNDRAISER - FEB. 20
Eat at The Stand on February 20th from 11am - 9pm to support LCMS PTSA. 20% of your food and beverage purchase will support Los Cerritos Middle School PTA.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT DAC APPLICATION 2024/2025
If your 8th grade student is interested in applying to be a member of the CVUSD Student District Advisory Committee (SDAC) for the 2024/25 school year, you must apply by Friday, February 25th. To apply, please click on the link below:
Student DAC Information:
The Student District Advisory Committee (SDAC) is made up of a number of students from each CVUSD high school site. The Student DAC representatives meet every month with CVUSD Assistant Superintendents and Directors to discuss policies, events, and important topics concerning the district.
SDAC Mission/Purpose
- Create a safe environment for Student Voice to accurately represent our sites unified under one district
- Promote Community Awareness - A partnership between Schools and Community
- Improve conditions at the school site including: Safe environment, effective communication, college and career readiness and clean schools.
- Discuss and take action regarding issues/concerns with student body no matter how great or small.
- Support and promote mental wellness for students, events that focus on the social emotional side, students helping students.
- Advocate to provide more opportunities throughout CVUSD including: positive social environment around campus, entertainment and other unique and non-traditional ideas.
- Provide effective means of communication - student’s ability to contact SDAC regarding various issues, as well as learning from our peers and listening to what they have to offer.
- Celebrate highlights and achievements

YOUTH LEADERSHIP SUMMIT - MARCH 13TH
BE THE VOICE - Attend the 2024 Youth Leadership Summit
The Youth Leadership Summit is designed to provide students an opportunity to learn from community leaders, as well as share your concerns and ideas with them.
Date: March 13, 2024
Time: 4:00pm-8:00pm
Who: Students in 7th - 12th grade who live or go to school within the City of Thousand Oaks
Location: Founders Room, Kavli Theater, 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd, Thousand Oaks, CA
Additional Notes: Pizza and Salad will be served. All participants will receive a certificate and community service hours for your time and dedication.
