Big picture

Welcome Back

Hello Dear Ones!

This has been a summer full of reflection and thought for me. My thinking has been informed by a number of authors and literature that focused primarily on "the why," equity, inclusion and creating conditions for ALL to succeed.

Our work with Teachers College Readers and Writers is a giant step in creating equitable conditions with high expectations for student achievement. You are all pioneers in this work! All of you have changed your teaching practices to better meet the needs of our students. This is admirable and commendable! Change is not easy and you are leaders in this work!

In addition, our work to support families is identified in research as best practice. We have a welcoming and inclusive environment. Parent University, The FRC and the office staff are all here to support parents. We have mental health support and parent education available through the FRC and Parent University. If you need help communicating or supporting a family let us know.

It is an absolute honor to work with all of you in creating conditions for success. I look forward to an amazing year of learning.
