New Communication Tool

I am trying out a new communication tool. This format is a great way to share important information with you via email, which received the most votes through my survey regarding school communication methods. I am able to include, photos, links, and even videos through this online newsletter. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to give feedback on this format.

New Artwork in Lincoln's Entrance

If you have walked through our front doors recently, you may have noticed the new artwork on the wall. Part of our Lincoln pledge is in bold print, welcoming all visitors with our students' role in education. This truly shows how we see our students and is a great display for our front entrance. Mrs. Chambers painted these canvases freehand. What a talent!

Car Riders

Thank you for continued patience while dropping off and picking up your children. With the continued cold weather, we have more students being driven to school, which means more cars and often a longer wait. Please remember to have your child get in and out of the car on the passenger side, so that he or she is going directly to the sidewalk and not walking around the car. In extreme temperatures, the salt doesn't always melt the ice, and we do not want anyone getting hurt. In the morning, please exercise caution, but know that you do not need to wait until your child is in the building to pull away. We have staff members outside every day to be sure everyone gets inside safely. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know so I can address any problem areas. Thank you!

From the Nutrition Services Department

Breakfast is served daily at Lincoln Elementary School and is part of the National School Lunch Program. Students that qualify for free lunch also get free breakfast. Students that qualify for reduced lunch (price $.40) can also purchase breakfast at a reduced price of $.30. The regular price of a breakfast is $1.25. Serving starts around 8:10 am every day. Our breakfast menu can be found on the Nutrition Services web page. We do not offer breakfast service on a 2 hour delay schedule.

Mealtime can be accessed from your school web page. Parents can add money, check balances and set up low balance reminders through a Mealtime account. All you need to get started is your child’s student ID number. The ID number can be found by calling the school office.

Monthly menus and other important information can be found on the Nutrition Services website.

Follow the Nutrition Services department on Twitter @HCWildcatLunch. Have the daily menu delivered to your phone every evening!

School Cancellations and Makeup Days

Thank you for your continued flexibility as we have had school delays and cancellations due to the weather this year. The only makeup day that is scheduled as of now is Friday, February 14. I will keep you posted about other changes. In the meantime, let's hope that warmer weather is almost here!

Kid President & Presidents' Day

Kid President is known by many students here at Lincoln. In honor of Presidents' Day, I'd like to share a video of Kid President with President Obama. He is an inspiration to many children and adults.

AdvancEd Accreditation

This school year the schools within the Hanover Community School Corporation are engaged in the five year evaluation by AdvancED. This is a voluntary process used to effectively drive student performance and continuous improvement in education.

Found Items

We have a few items that were found recently. We have a purse that was found at the Daddy-Daughter Dance, a purse that was found at Winter Wonderland (although it may have been there prior to that date), and a parent reported finding an item of value at the park on 105th. If you believe any of these items may be yours, please contact the office. We would like to help get them back to their owners.

Looking Ahead to Next Year...
