Students enjoyed making snow lanterns with battery-operated candles and playing games like Build a Snowman Race, Don't Break the Ice, Abominable Snowman Toss, Marshmallow Relay and Tallest Marshmallow "snow" sculpture. Many, many thanks to PTA and all the wonderful volunteers who helped make this special celebration for our students possible!
Favorite Color Day, January 20
This Friday, January 20, Dryden Dolphins are invited to show their school spirit by wearing their favorite color to school! We look forward to learning about each other's favorite colors together!
PTA All School Assembly, January 20
We are excited that PTA is providing Dryden students a special live, interactive performance, Mousetrap Machine at Dryden this Friday, January 20. This entertaining science assembly will show how machines work. Assembly performances are at 9:45 - 10:30 am and 10:45 - 11:30 am in the Dryden Commons.
PM kindergarten students are welcome to attend either assembly with a parent or caregiver. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to sign in at the office and obtain a visitor's badge.
Valentine's Day, February 14
We are looking forward to celebrating friendship and caring at Dryden during our class Valentine parties on Tuesday, February 14!
In order to help keep our students with life-threatening allergies safe, our school district expectations continue to be that Valentine cards to students cannot have any candy, food or latex (eg. balloons) attached to them. Items such as goodie bags filled with treats or candy are also not permitted. Trinkets such as pencils, erasers, stickers, etc., are great alternatives as long as they are not edible and do not contain latex.
Dryden Bike Racks
All of the Dryden bike racks have been returned to their original location by the pickle ball courts on west side of the school. Please remember that car pick-up and drop-off takes place in front of Dryden school, southbound along Dryden Place. There should NOT be any cars picking up or dropping off along Lincoln or in the back lot.
Attention 5th Grade Parents/Guardians
Beginning January 20, please look out for a personalized email that will contain the directions on how your student can register for the language they wish to take in 6th grade.
If you would like further information regarding our World Language opportunities, please contact Mrs. Andrea Luessow (aluessow@sd25.org), D25 World Language Coordinator; Dr.Jim Morrison (jmorrison@sd25.org), Principal of South Middle School; or Dr. Becky FitzPatrick (rfitzpatrick@sd25.org), Assistant Superintendent of Student Learning.
Friday FLIPS
The Dryden staff is on the lookout for students going above and beyond in big and small ways to make a positive impact on their school community. These Dolphin sightings are recognized during the morning announcements on Fridays. The students below were recognized for exemplifying the Dryden Dolphin Do's of being CARING, RESPONSIBLE and SAFE. Stay tuned for updates on these awesome Dolphin sightings and Friday Flips!
