End of Year Greetings!
Kindergarten - 6th Grade Newsletter
Hello Parents and Guardians,
I have outlined our plan for materials collection at each site. While we want the day to be celebratory and festive, we must also uphold the guidelines given to us by MDE. Thank you in advance for following all details in the plans below. Especially noteworthy is the need for families to remain inside the car throughout the process. The only exception is individual middle school students who will be invited to exit their car to return/pick-up materials in compliance with MDE social distancing guidelines. Elementary students will remain in the car with their families during the entirety of the route. Your cooperation is appreciated!
Lunch pick-up and delivery is scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday next week due to the Memorial Day Holiday. Please call Crystal Allers if you are NOT planning to pick-up your meals. (507) 789-7024. Friday, May 29 is the last day for meals and also for Emergency Worker Childcare.
It has been a great honor to work with you and your children the last five years. I have loved being part of K-W Schools and appreciate the opportunity I was given to be part of the community and schools.
Stay safe and be well,
Katy Schuerman

Elementary Materials Collection - Thursday, May 28
Please read details carefully! Plans for the elementary are different than for the MS.
Materials drop-off/pick-up is available to families ANY day next week. Thursday will be a special day with the greatest number of staff members outside to wave to you! However, if you are not available on Thursday, simply connect with your classroom teacher to let us know when to expect you!
Details for our Thursday “Time to ReuKnight” day are below:
When: Thursday, May 28th 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Where: All cars should enter the parking lot from 3rd Avenue. Follow the cones around the perimeter of the lot before exiting the parking lot to follow Third Avenue along the front of the elementary building.
Photo Opportunity – Elizabeth Boyum has volunteered to share her photography talent with us on Thursday! There will be a vehicle-sized backdrop on the outside wall of the kitchen. You may stop your vehicle in front of it and smile pretty! **Photos will be shared with others. Please tell us if you don't want your family photo shared.
Materials to return:
- Chromebooks and CORDS (**attach the cord to the chromebook you return)
- Internet Hotspots
- Textbooks
- Library Books
Other considerations – Please remain in your car and place items to return in the trunk or hatchback of your car. Pop your trunk at the first drop-off station and a staff member will retrieve the items for collection. Materials being sent home will be placed in the trunk as well and our staff members will close it for you.
Safety Precautions – Staff members will wear masks and gloves to reduce the risk of exposure.
