Digital Literacies: Communicative
Welcome!
Communication in the 21st Century Classroom.
The communicative element of digital literacy states...
"We should be using technology to enhance our communications."
Too often communication skills are assumed, rather than explicitly taught to students. As the digital age expands, and is ever-present in the classroom, students need to learn how to effectively communicate online.
Digital Tools
The current generation of students is growing with technology integrated into their lives. This portfolio examines the use of digital tools in the classroom to promote communication.
The journey begins with simple pictures, then 140 characters (or less) and then combines the two concepts, culminating in creative writing.

Communication in the Digital Classrom
The following journey is based on using one iPad in the classroom.
The culminating task for students is titled: "Me in the World".
The parameters for this task are broad to allow students flexibility when creating their project. In the section, Classroom Resources, follow the link to Google Drive to access the supporting documents.

Project Adaptations
This portfolio was primarily directed toward an elementary panel audience. However, it could easily be adapted for secondary or post secondary by altering the expectations and culminating task.
For use of the tools in the workplace, please watch this short video.
