PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
As we continue to press on with the current school year, my appreciation for our students and staff continues to grow. This situation has led to many challenges we have never had to manage. Our kids and our staff are supportive of each other, and have risen above every obstacle set in their way.
As we look into the future, our best days lie ahead. There is much to learn about this new reality, in as much as we want to return to a normal school year.
As we look ahead, please note that we have a staff Institute Day on April 23rd. There is no school and staff will be on site to take advantage of professional development, and much needed time to reflect and look ahead. This is also the traditional date for Prom. As venues are unable to accommodate our Prom, we have moved it to May 15th. However, we are still revising Prom to comply with the still restrictive IDPH guidelines and will share out more details very soon.
UPCOMING EVENTS

FINISHING STRONG - PREPARING FOR FINAL EXAMS
As we near the end of the school year and move towards incorporating more of our end-of-semester practices, we want to take the time to go over our final exam schedules and how to help your child (children) create a strong study plan. By clicking on the links, you will find the Finals Week for Seniors and Final Exam Schedule for Freshman/Sophomores/Juniors. For our upperclassmen, this will be a reminder of how to prepare for finals. For our freshmen, this is something they may not have experienced before and will need support. However, to help all our students, we have created some guiding documents to help them end their year successfully. This first document is a Study Strategies checklist, adapted from Princeton Review. It suggests some key steps to take a few weeks before finals week. The first step is to create a study plan at least 3 weeks out. It allows time to gather materials needed for final projects, materials to help study with, and a schedule to help set aside time to study over multiple days. To help create a schedule for finals week, a copy can be made of this May 2021 calendar. It has the exams already listed and begins with the first weekend in May outlining time to gather necessary materials. These tips and tools will also be shared with students during Advisory as we work together to support all our T-Bolts as they #FinishStrong.
ATHLETICS
Spring is here, and the summer season is officially underway! We have recently started baseball, softball, boys' and girls' lacrosse, boys' and girls' track and field, boys' volleyball, boys' tennis, girls' soccer, and wrestling! It has been a very challenging year, and our T-Bolt student-athletes have responded with focus, grit, and positivity. Many of our athletes will be participating in two programs at the same time through the first three weeks of April, as the spring and summer seasons overlap! Words cannot express the gratitude and respect we have for all of them as they dedicate themselves through these next few weeks.
We would like to also take an opportunity to share with families that we will soon be opening up our summer rec opportunities. Information for this summer's athletic camps will be available through our district's RevTrack system available on our district website. Our target date is April 15th. On behalf of our staff, we hope everyone enjoys the turning weather and more time outside. Please always feel free to reach out to our office with any questions, or visit our website for more department information.

ATHLETIC BOOSTERS
Queen of Hearts fundraiser is here! We are still searching for the Queen of Hearts. We are on Week 7 and we are over $2400 in our progressive 50/50 split. The more everyone buys, and the longer it takes to find the Queen, the more money there is to win! Our virtual drawing is every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. until the Queen of Hearts is picked. This is open to any resident in Illinois 18 and over. Tell all your friends and family! We will have a weekly winner that will receive a $50 gift card to a local business. Please check out our website https://andrewathleticboostersqoh.org
Our on-line spirit wear store will be opening on April 5. Details will be following soon.
The Booster Club is open for concessions for the home games for soccer and football for the limited capacity crowds. Please come out and support the Booster Club. Our fundraising opportunities have been limited this year due to Covid.
MUSIC BOOSTERS
On Saturday, April 10, the Wind Symphony and the saxophone trio performed in the Chicagoland Invitational Concert Band Festival at Hersey High School. This was the first live performance in over a year and it was a truly amazing experience.
Congratulations to Winter Percussion for being named Percussion Scholastic Open Class Finalists in the WGI Scholastic Marching Open. Their dedication in this virtual season is inspiring.
