Congratulations! You have proficiently completed all components of the CCTI Foundations Course and we look forward to working with you during the CCTI Summer Institute. Please see below for Summer Institute information as well as some basic information on program requirements for the 2019-20 school year.
CCTI Summer Institute
Week 1: June 17 – 21
Monday- Tuesday: Online modules on Canvas (you will receive separate instructions for access) and submitted work by 3pm daily
Wednesday-Friday: Face-to-face workshop – see below for details for the face-to-face workshop. The required prep work is listed below*.
Week 2: June 24 - 28
Monday- Friday: Online sessions and submitted work by 3pm daily
Week 3: July 8 – 12
Monday – Friday: Online sessions and submitted work by 3pm daily
*Workshop Prep work:
Please bring
· A charged laptop;
· Your curriculum, materials, resources, lesson plans, assessments for the two extended lesson topics you select.
Select two topics for the extended lesson plans you want to revise. Remember, each of the extended lessons should:
· Focus on a “chunk” of learning critical to your content
· Need revision to increase student success
· Include lessons for 5-10 days of instruction
· Include resources, materials, and assessments that you have used in the past

Our CCTI Summer 3-day workshop will be led by Dr. Connie Kamm, internationally renowned educator.
Dr. Connie Kamm is the founder and CEO of Kamm Solutions. With over thirty years of experience as a leader and teacher at the university, public school, and corporate levels, Connie brings a unique blend of real-world experience and international research to her work with schools, districts, and departments of education. Over the past twelve years, Connie has provided over 1,800 professional learning opportunities for educators throughout the United States, Canada, Argentina, Mexico, and Zambia.
Connie’s customized work includes keynotes, workshops, seminars, and individualized coaching sessions. Her topics range from system-wide continuous learning frameworks, to powerful leadership practices, effective collaborative teamwork, dynamic curriculum design, and powerful instructional strategies. Next school year’s CCTI 2019-20 Independent Study and Coaching/Mentoring Requirements
During the CCTI Summer Institute, you will build two extended lessons. These extended lessons will be future-focused and will incorporate formative learning. You may choose to use the lessons you develop during the summer session for the Evidence of Competency you are required to build next year.
Next year’s CCTI requirements
1) Proficient Completion of Evidence of Competency
2) Completion of 150 hours (total for the 2 years) of Coaching/Mentoring support
Evidence of Competency:
This Evidence is a portfolio demonstrating your competency in the classroom and your ability to reflect on student learning and your instruction to improve learning for all. It includes:
· Class Context and Content Focus
· Assessment Plan
· Lesson plans (extended lesson)
· Analysis of student work
· Video clips (2) demonstrating effective use of disciplinary writing and student collaboration
· Intentional and focused reflection
