Author Spotlight
Ezra Jack Keats
March 11, 1916-May 6, 1983
What better author to celebrate during the winter months than Ezra Jack Keats? His 1962 classic, The Snowy Day, is still beloved today. I remember reading this book for the first time to a group of first graders and the pleasure on their faces told me I chose the right book!
Ezra Jack Keats was able to create books with a large range of characters that show the ways we are all different yet the same. We may come in all different shapes and sizes, but we face similar problems and have similar feelings throughout our lives.
Pick up one of his many books this winter!
