Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:30- 4:30

Remember to spend those cold winter days taking out a good book to read!

Author Spotlight

Ezra Jack Keats

March 11, 1916-May 6, 1983

What better author to celebrate during the winter months than Ezra Jack Keats? His 1962 classic, The Snowy Day, is still beloved today. I remember reading this book for the first time to a group of first graders and the pleasure on their faces told me I chose the right book!

Ezra Jack Keats was able to create books with a large range of characters that show the ways we are all different yet the same. We may come in all different shapes and sizes, but we face similar problems and have similar feelings throughout our lives.

Pick up one of his many books this winter!

Partner Reading Initiative

Calling All Fifth Graders!

Beginning on January 16, 2014 we will begin our partner reading initiative. Our fifth grade volunteers will join our first and second graders to pass on their love of reading. Each 5th grader that participates will be assigned a partner and meet with them on Friday afternoons during the last period. Please make sure you choose an appropriate book to read to your partner and allow them to read their favorite book to you! If you have not signed up to be a reading buddy come to the library as soon as possible.
