Back to School Donation Drive
September 12th through October 14th
Thornhill Community
The Back to School Donation Drive started today! The 2015 BSDD was a huge success, thanks to our generous community. Thornhill families donated over $154,000!
Those funds were used to:
-hire a full time P.E. coach
-hire a part-time music instructor (K-2)
-hire a part-time art instructor -hire a part-time computer instructor
-hire 7 part-time teacher’s aides -fund field trips and assemblies -hire a part-time librarian -purchase computers and software
-and much more!!
To continue supporting those programs and staffing efforts our goal is to raise at least $160,000 through the Back to School Donation Drive. The BSDD is the largest fundraiser that we have at Thornhill and is a critical part of our fundraising efforts. To make our goals we are shooting to raise $900 per child.
This year we have new incentives:
- $450 donations receive a Thornhill mug and car magnet
- $900 donations receive a mug, magnet, lunch bag and canvas tote
- $1350 donations receive a mug, magnet, lunch bag, canvas tote, Thornhill sweatshirt and fleece blanket
- $1800 donations receive everything listed above plus an additional sweatshirt and a limited edition Thornhill duffle bag
We know that what we’re asking for is not pocket change, and we encourage everybody to donate something, no matter how much. We’re striving for 100% participation.
Thornhill is a great neighborhood school because parents like you who show your support every year.
We will be collecting Back to School Donations from September 12 through October 14th.
Checks can be placed in the BSDD collection box in the office. Or you can donate online via PayPal at ThornhillSchool.org.
If your company provides matching gifts we encourage you to contact them to match your donations. Matching gifts make up a large portion of our funds and only take a few minutes to coordinate.
Thanks for your continued outstanding support. If you have any questions feel free to contact us at bsdd@thornhillschool.org.
With much appreciation,
Christine Pereira
