  • Shirts must all have a cap or short sleeve. Tank tops are not permitted
  • Shorts/skirts must be fingertip length
  • Leggings/Jeggings may only be worn with a skirt/dress that is fingertip length
  • Shirts (polos, button downs or sweatshirts/hoodies) on Mass days must be solid in color. No patterns or large symbols are permitted
  • Shorts/pants on Mass days must be solid in color: jean, khaki, black or blue.
  • Holy Trinity shirts of any kind are acceptable on both Mass and non-Mass days.

Team News

Reading/ Writing: This week we will be finishing our Saints Among Us project. Their rough draft is due Friday, May 13, and their FINAL copy is due Wednesday, May 18

th. Their final copy needs to be typed. Students can type them at home, school, or they can be emailed to us. Then, on May 20th, the 5th grade will be presenting their Earthly Saint with an award. Their typed essay is part of the award. The awards presentation will be at 10:15 and will last until 11:35. Afterwards, students are allowed to go to lunch with their Saint. I have given students their reservation sheet, so you can indicate how many people will be attending and if your child will be going out to lunch. Please sign and return as soon as possible. Also, please don’t forget to email or send in a picture of your child’s Earthly Saint.

Math: We will continue with math stations next week by reviewing objectives that we have learned throughout the year. We have exceeded our math objectives for this year, so we will move on to some 6th grade standards for fun!

Science/Health: We will be ready for our test over life science next week.

Social Studies: Our state and capital test will be on Thursday, May 19. We have been practicing each week in class, and I have sent home practice sheets with the students.

We have been discussing the time before and during the Louisiana Purchase this week. Our Road Trips were fabulous! Students did a great job on these!

**As always, assignments are subject to change**

Saint Project

We are so excited about this project to culminate our 5th Grade year. The details are listed below.

This week and next we will be working on a project inspired by the movie, St. Vincent starring Bill Murray. Students will research a saint. Then, they will choose someone who emulates that saint. After that, they will write an essay using the rubric provided. Then, on May 20th, the 5th grade will be presenting their Earthly Saint with an award. The awards presentation will be at 10:15 and will last until 11:35. Afterwards, students are allowed to go to lunch with their Saint. We will send an invitation home with your child, so you can indicate how many people can attend and if student is going out to lunch.
