He has worked diligently with the cleanups, not only on the community’s streets and annual collections of scrap metal and old tires, but has also taken canoes out on Greers Ferry to collect trash around the lakeside beaches. George has also worked Lions Club Pancake Breakfasts, school festivals and science evenings, built dog houses for Habitat for Humanity, and for Cabot Christmas Alliance where he helped to organize food for distribution at Christmas. George's main community service project for the last five years has been working with Mr. Scott Patterson at the Eastside Elementary School Chess Club. He attends the weekly club meetings where he teaches the students how to play chess and develops their game skills and strategies, preparing them for regional competitions and encouraging their patience and deep-thinking skills.
College/Military Plans:
George has been taking flying lessons and has accumulated over 10 hours in pursuit of his goals. He is in the process of applying to the Air Force Academy, where he plans to study for a degree in Aerospace Engineering and become a pilot in the United States Air Force, flying C130’s. His backup plan is to attend the University of Oklahoma studying for the same degree as well as pursuing a minor in Aviation while attending the Air Force ROTC. All his plans for the future include a career in the Armed Forces honoring and serving his country.
College and Career Fair
CHS College and Career Fair will be held September 28, 2017 in the cafeteria. Students will be released by the following times:
Seniors (A-K) 8:10-8:40

The College Fair Automation System will allow students to register for the event online at www.gotocollegefairs.com which produces a barcode they bring to the fair. At the tables, the students present their barcodes to the colleges of their choice. The colleges/universities equipped with scanners will capture their information digitally, allowing our fairs to “go greener” by using fewer prospect cards. This also helps to streamline the fairs for colleges AND students by giving them more time to speak with each other.Bowling Try outs

CHS Check Out Policy
CHS students will be allowed to check out with a parent/guardian note only. A parent/guardian phone number will need to be included on the checkout note for verification purposes.
***No phone call checkouts will be allowed because of safety concerns.
CHS is a closed campus and we strongly discourage students from checking out at lunch. This typically causes unnecessary tardies and classroom interruptions. If a student is checking out at lunch, a parent/guardian must physically come in and sign the student out and them back in from lunch.
Only a parent/guardian is allowed to drop lunch off for a student. If a parent/guardian is dropping off lunch for a student, there will be a table (outside the office) with a sharpie for the students name to be written on it. Students should know in advance that lunch is being dropped off to them.
