Holy Days (Christmas and Easter)
The true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus who lived in Israel 2000 years ago and who died on the cross for our sins. Christmas is supposed to be the time of the year where we celebrate the birth of Christ. Jesus gives meaning to Christmas. Jesus who was God in flesh, perfect, pure, holy and died on the cross and rose from the dead. The new testament states that the resurrection of Jesus, which Easter celebrates, is a foundation of the Christians faith. The resurrection established Jesus as the power Son of God and is cited as proof that God will judge the world in righteousness. The meaning of Easter is Jesus Christs victory over death, Easter also symbolizes the complete verification of all that Jesus preached and taught during his three-year ministry.
Rituals
In Religious contexts, a ritual is a set form of worship. Rituals involve symbolic physical actions. Christians worship services generally include singing, prayer, and a sermon. Most churches have a special ritual for ordination, or designating a persons fit for a leadership position in the Church. At home, most practicing Christians pray regularly and many read the Bible. Sacred rituals through which God saving power comes to believers.
Priests and ministers
At first, every man was his own priest, and presented his own sacrifices before God. Afterwords that office devolved on the head of the family. Minister means one who serves, as distinguished from the master. " Ministry" is from the Greek word Diakoneo, meaning "to serve" or doulew , meaning "to serve as a slave" In the new testament , Ministry is seen as service to God and to other people in his name. Jesus provided the pattern for Christian ministry.
