Liberty Creek Families

Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful winter break with your friends and family. Mother Nature sure brought in the winter weather with lots of snow up in the mountains making it a great playground to enjoy outdoor activities, minus the frigid temperatures.

Our teachers are well rested and excited to welcome our students back tomorrow as we begin at 8:55AM. Please make sure to send your child in appropriate clothes for outdoor conditions (snow pants, boots, hat, gloves, scarves, and a warm winter coat )as we generally go outside to get fresh air, unless the temperatures are too cold. We ask that you label ALL items as our lost and found is overflowing.

As teachers, we always look forward to January thru March as we spent several months establishing classroom routines, learning about each individual student through a variety of assessments and creating a personalized plan to help them accelerate academically, and creating strong relationships that build a sense of trust, risk-taking, and a growth mindset.

During the second trimester, our staff works extensively on capitalizing and maximizing student growth as there is minimal disruptions on our school calendar. We have spent the majority of our Thursday collaborations focusing on small group instruction (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and comprehension), with an emphasis on our new math curriculum. We look forward to re-assessing our students again in January to set new goals as we move forward into the new year.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Alsaker

Principal

Recess Rangers (formerly known as Watch DOGS): We are looking for volunteers who would like to join us in saying hello to our students during lunch and then playing outside with them at recess. In the past, we have had adults organize a game of kickball, soccer, 4-square, etc. Our students enjoy having adults come and interact with them.
