3rd Six Weeks

3rd Six Weeks: Nov. 18 - Jan. 17
These six weeks, students will be expected to read on a daily basis and earn 10 AR points for this six weeks. It is imperative that students continue reading at least 30 minutes each evening to better their fluency and comprehension.
Reading: We will be using Daily 5 to build stamina. We will continue to focus on the reading skills on a weekly basis these include: character analysis, theme, plot, comparing and contrasting, summarizing, context clues, and drawing conclusions.
Math: we will focus on possible outcomes, fractions, equivalent fractions, and mixed numbers.
Writing: we will write personal narratives as well as expository compositions to prepare us for the writing state assessment.
IB: We continue working on being IB scholars and learning the learner profiles. Please work with your child at home in developing these attributes. Please encourage your child to be responsible by doing his/her homework and to come prepared to class.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

~Ms. Sanchez

Parents are their children's first and most important teachers, and, for children to be successful in school, parents and families need to be actively involved in their children's learning. They need to become involved early and stay involved throughout the school year.
