Congratulations!!!
Rainbow Child Care Center demonstrates a commitment to quality care and education through NECPA accreditation and we are pleased to announce our newly accredited schools in Stewartsville, New Jersey, Holland, Michigan, and Washington Township, Ohio. NECPA Accreditation requires us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care. Pursuing accreditation is voluntary and demonstrates our ongoing commitment of meeting quality standards through excellence in education. The accreditation process is comprised of a rich self-assessment process involving parents, staff and program management to reach for a higher level of quality in early education.
Caroline, Kim, Nancy and their teams are committed to implementing and upholding the highest quality standards and best practices when serving each and every family. At Rainbow Child Care Center, we are confident that children are receiving the best care and education possible. Our passionate teachers and research-based curriculum meet early childhood content standards and best practices.
Congratulations Caroline, Kim and Nancy!!
Education Buzzword
This refers to the ability to apply complex concepts to answer a question or solve a problem that may have more than one right answer. One model of these thinking skills is Bloom’s Taxonomy. This focuses on six levels that students must practice and incorporate into their lessons and activities, they are; knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation.
Theorist of the Month
Urie Bronfenbrenner developed the Ecological Systems theory to explain how a child’s environment influences a child’s development. In his model, there is a hierarchy of influence levels. He puts the child, who comes with his own temperament and conditions, in the middle, or Micro System. The nuclear family, or Meso System, has the greatest influence on a child’s emotional development since, hopefully, his first attachment is to his mother or other primary caregiver. The community a child lives in and the school(s) he attends, the Exo System, also have a substantial amount of influence on his social emotional development; in particular, the early childhood program he attends, and the relationships he establishes with his teacher or provider. Bronfenbrenner’s Macros System, or society, which includes culture, government and public policies, comes next. The final system, the Chrono System includes transitions such as moving, changing schools, divorce and other life changes that can effect a child’s social emotional development.

Advocate for Children
A key part of 4C's mission is to speak loudly on behalf of children and families, advocating for government policies which support the highest quality of child care and early learning. Non-profit organizations like 4C are permitted to conduct education related to public policy and to advocate on behalf of their constituencies. We just can’t use government funds to do so, and we don’t.
