What Is Gonorrhea?
Body System With Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea affects the throat, rectum, vagina, penis, and mouth. These get affected by; Oral= throat and/or mouth, anal=rectum, reproductive= penis or vagina.
When you go to urinate it normally does not sting. If you have gonorrhea it will feel like you are peeing fire. A normal mouth looks pink or a light pink; with gonorrhea, the tonsils have white spots, the uvula is bigger, and behind the uvula becomes mostly red. Gonorrhea in the rectum has a bump. Normally, there are no bumps. The vagina looks pink. A vagina with gonorrhea looks reddish with yellow pus. A penis with gonorrhea looks dried up with discharge out of the tip of the penis.
People At Risk
Men and Women of all ages can get gonorrhea. If a woman is infected, she can pass it on to her unborn child or during birth. You can also get gonorrhea later in life too if you are not protected. Any race can get gonorrhea.
Medicines to get rid of gonorrhea is quinolones, penicillin, tetracycline, and sulfa drugs as well as some cephalosporins used to get rid of the disease. When bacteria become resistant to an antibiotic, they no longer can be killed by that diagnosis. A doctor can tell if you have gonorrhea by swabbing the mouth if oral sex or urine sample if reproductive sex.
Signs And Symtoms
You can live forever with this condition unless you are not treated for a while and it can be fatal.
John Dillinger was the most famous person with gonorrhea. I found this topic to be interesting and very educating.
