Testing Information for Tuesday, October 1st
All 10th graders and 12th graders will be testing on Tuesday, October 1. When the bell rings Tuesday morning, students will report directly to their testing rooms. Rosters will be posted in the Trojan Daily, on Twitter, and on Facebook by Monday afternoon. Check back to be sure you know where to go Tuesday morning! Students will be allowed to leave campus after testing if they turn in a check-out note Tuesday morning to the teacher in their testing room.
**Note: If you have morning tech, remember to come straight to HGHS for testing Tuesday morning. Do not go to tech.
What to Bring for Testing
Please bring a photo ID, an approved calculator, and standard #2 pencils (no mechanical pencils). You may bring a snack to eat during the break if you would like; snacks will not be provided.
Please check the ACT Calculator Policy to make sure you bring an approved calculator.
What NOT to Bring for Testing
Please remember that digital devices including, but not limited to, cell phones and smart watches will NOT be allowed in the testing rooms. Students are encouraged not to bring backpacks, purses, etc. because these items will not be allowed in the testing rooms.
Prohibited Use of Cell Phones and Wearable Electronic Devices (from ACT)
Examinees may not handle or access a cell phone or electronic device at any time in the testing room or during breaks. This includes smart watches, fitness bands, and any other devices with recording, internet, or communications capabilities.

Are you interested in a challenge? Would you like to be part of a team that helps push one another to physical and mental limits unattainable by the average person? Do you have the desire to see what you are truly capable of when it is just you fighting against an opponent? Do you have the will to prepare for combat and win?
The wrestling team still has several weight class slots to fill. If you are interested, it is not too late, but the opportunity will close on October 18th. Please see Coach Glenn in S212 before then for more information.

FAFSA Assistance for Senior Parents
Senior parents, please sign up to attend the morning, afternoon, or evening session on October 2nd. There will be multiple organizations/people available to assist parents in completing the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which is required for grants, loans, and certain scholarships. John F. Kennedy Courage Essay Contest

Senior Panoramic Picture: The senior panoramic picture will be October 3rd at 9 a.m. Morning tech students will come to HGHS that morning instead of going to tech. They will report to the cafeteria for 1st period.
Interested in Working with Sound/Audio Equipment? Do you like music? Do you love to hear the booming sound coming from your speakers? Anyone interested in learning how to work with sound and audio equipment, please see Mrs. Brady. The Drama Department is looking for students who would like to help with audio at school and community events.
PSAT/NMSQT:
Attn: 10th and 11th Grade Students
The Preliminary SAT or PSAT/NMSQT will be given at Hazel Green High School on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. This is an optional test that provides practice for the SAT and serves as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for 11th grade students. The cost of the test is $20 and is payable by check to HGHS or by cash. My School Fees cannot be used at this time for the test. Pay and sign up in the Guidance Office before September 13. Senior Portraits: The deadline to take your senior portrait for the yearbook is October 17th.

FAFSA Assistance: Are you a parent who needs expert assistance with FAFSA submission? FAFSA assistance for parents will be offered from 8:30-12:30 in the library October 25, November 1, November 22, and December 13. Please RSVP with Mrs. Jagielski.

Online Application for Free/Reduced Meals: Online free and reduced meal applications are available at the link below for a faster, more confidential way to apply. A new application must be completed each school year to qualify for free or reduced meals. Your child's eligibility status carries over to the new school year for the first 30 school days, allowing parents time to re-apply. Only one application per household should be submitted, and everyone living in the house must be included on the application.
