Wednesday Nights Kick Off this week August 16th
Wednesday Night Explore starts this week August 16th!!! For several weeks elementary agers will learn about the books of the Bible along with some simple hand motions to help them remember what each book and what it is about. The goal is that by Thanksgiving we'll be able to say all 66 books of the Bible from memory and have a general idea of what each book is about. CHILDREN WILL NEED THEIR BIBLES. We will have a Books of the Bible Challenge. By mid-November children that can recite the Books of the Bible in order by heart will receive a $10 Five Below gift card.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We need one to two adults each week to join us. Not only will you be able to brush up on the Books of the Bible BUT you will build relationships with our children. It is so important for each child in our ministry to have several adults that love them and care about them. Wednesday nights are a bit more relaxed and lots of fun. We always need at least two adults in our room to meet Safe Sanctuary policies. As many of you know I am having knee replacement surgery the end of this month and will be out for a few weeks. Please consider helping to lead during this time and/or assist. Sign up: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0549acaa23ab9-wednesday2
PARENTS OF PRESCHOOLERS AND 5Kers: Cherub Choir/Bells will kick off Wednesday, September 6th at 6 p.m. Led by Rachael Cook and assisted by Dani Lemaster (5K children will have the option of participating in Cherubs or Bible study upstairs with the older children). Cherubs will meet in the Discovery Classroom. For more information, questions or concerns please feel free to contact me, Rachel or Dani.
Childcare is available for preschoolers on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. in August during Pastor Bill’s Confirmation Bible Study.
Jesus’ Triumphant Entry Luke 19:28-40; Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; John 12:12-16
“For, at just the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only almighty God, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords” (1 Timothy 6:15)
Jesus and his friends head to Jerusalem. Two disciples get there first and borrow a donkey colt for Jesus to ride. He rides triumphantly down the road, and the crowds spread branches and robes in his path. They call out praises, declaring that Jesus is the King.
Through the Week
- One day this week, lay some old towels along a hallway or common area of your house.
- Whenever you pass by or walk on the path, remember that King Jesus lives in your house!
- Praise him!
- At the end of the day, pick up the towels and talk together about how you can honor Jesus as a King all the time.
Talk About This…What would be the best part about being a king or queen?
