Math CBA

On Monday and Tuesday (March 23-24), we will be taking our next math curriculum based assessment. Although we are not taking a grade for this CBA, we will continue to use the information to help tailor our instruction in the classroom.

Topics in the Upcoming Math CBA

  • 2D and 3D Geometric Figures
  • Weight and Capacity
  • Analyzing Data on a Frequency Table with Bar Graphs, Pictographs, and Dot Plots.
  • Spiraling concepts from previous CBAs

Science CBA

On Friday (March 27), we will be taking the next science CBA. Students are encouraged to take home their science journal and use STEMscopes to review concepts we've learned in the classroom.

Topics for the Upcoming Science CBA

  • Physical Characteristics of Environments
  • Food Chains
  • Affects of Environmental Changes

Weekly Homework

Every Friday we will send math and reading practice home with your child. It will be due on Thursdays. Students are required to complete all of the homework packet and show work for each problem and question. They have been taught how to do this, so don't let them fool you. :)

We still want them reading 20 minutes every night, but they are not required to complete a reading response. If your child has been given a guided reading assignment that can take place for their nightly 20 minutes of reading.

An example of he homework can also be found on the 3rd Grade Website.
