Special Report from MVtv
Announcements & Updates
- Today, a school safety drill was conducted to practice the district’s processes and procedures in the event of an emergency. We successfully completed a lockdown with all students and staff. This was a routine drill, and there is no reason for alarm or concern. Throughout the school year, we will continue to send notifications confirming the completion of a school security drill.
- Did you know that research has shown that students who engage in independent reading are stronger readers across all content areas? To that end, Mountain View students and staff will "D.E.A.R." - Drop Everything and Read - every Thursday during EEE. Please speak with your child to ensure that he/she has independent reading material in school; those who do not have reading material will be provided with something to read during this time.
- 8th grade parents: A reminder that the final payment for the 8th grade trip to Gettysburg/Hershey, in the amount of $157.50, is due by March 1.
- 5th & 6th grade mid-marking period progress reports were mailed today.
It's a "Tale as Old as Time"...

HSA Happenings
Hello Mendham Borough School Parents! After what feels like a long enough winter hibernation, come shed your parkas and sweaters and help make Spring Bloom! What a better way to kick of the Spring season than to attend the 2024 Mendham Borough Schools Fundraiser?! It's not just about supporting Hilltop and Mountain View Schools (which is super important!), but it's about meeting and reconnecting with fellow parents in and across grade levels. Come out and celebrate Blossoming Our Future on Friday, April 5th at Roxiticus Golf Club. This year's fundraiser is a great opportunity to meet new faces, learn what the HSA has to offer, and raise money by scoring some pretty awesome items from our Silent Auction. Take a look at our website, where you can find more information on what the night has to offer. Tickets are selling fast, so grab yours here before they're gone! (Sales are limited to 150 and available on a first-come, first-served basis). Any questions, please reach out to Katie Carty (kathleencarty2@gmail.com) or Anna Smyth (annapunzalan@gmail.com). Looking forward to seeing you there!
