Scholastic books
Your Scholastic classroom library books have arrived!
The ELA team was able to get each classroom 100 books (and bins) to add to your classroom library. There are 200 books per complete classroom set, however, each of you will get half of a set. The district is hoping to find funding for each teacher to get a complete set, but we don't have a timeline or guarantee on that--I'll keep you posted as I hear more.
PTA has let lead room parents know that you may be in need of assistance to get these labeled. The books will be delivered with your labels. A number of you have expressed interest in having your students put the Property of Doss Elementary labels on the spine (or front cover) as part of a "get to know your library" activity. If you trust your kids can do this neatly, go for it--otherwise, your lead room parent can assist in this effort. The labels are gold foil, so if you choose to mix them with your current classroom library, they should be fairly easy to spot and keep track of.
Please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks- Shanna

We completed all the required Digital Citizenship lessons this week. Please note that Brainpop has 16 videos on Digital Citizenship if you want to watch more of them with your class.
Computer Science Education Week will be Dec 5-11. To celebrate this I will sign up all Doss classrooms for the Hour Of Code. I will put login cards in your mailbox and the webpage for your classroom will be listed on the Doss Owl Bookmarks in the folder marked “Hour of Code”. Your kids can use the Hour of Code anytime in December.
