Sunrise Family Updates
10.26.23
Hi Sunrise Families!
Hi All - Thank you for all of you who came to Family Conferences! We are still gathering data, but I know we had more than one classroom where 100% of students' families showed up. This is a big deal and we are very grateful for you making the time. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you were not able to attend to schedule another time to meet.
Many festivities are coming up with Halloween approaching! As different groups and churches send info to us, we do our best to include it all as your one stop shop to find activities and resources for you and your family. Finding community within and outside of school expands your child's social network of people and friends who care. And the fun stuff is really important too!
Speaking of fun stuff, please enjoy the 5th grade Sunrise Scoop team's video below. Their creativity will make you smile, for sure!
Have a great long weekend and we will see you Monday!
Sincerely,
Katie Smullen
Sunrise Principal
IXL at home!
We try very hard to limit the amount of screen time for our students at school and I know this is something we as parents and caregivers, try to find a balance at home as well. One idea that some families use is that in order for their child to earn screen time, they complete 10 minutes of IXL.
We do offer a weekly IXL competition for students with prizes! So please remind this to students as well. Right now third graders are taking the top spots!
Gnome Games Family Game Night!
Back by popular demand! Mark your calendars for November 9th from 4-6 p.m. See attached flyer. PTO will be using this evening as a fundraiser as well and offering pizza by the slice from Sonny's and a bake sale. If anyone would like to donate baked goods or other necessary items to be used at this event, please sign up at the link below:
Colton followed the instructions to build this Lego rocket ship and had us all smiling when he completed it!
Students have been earning and spending their clipper cash for being Safe, Responsible and Respectful. I am happy that "painting nails with Mrs. Smullen" was recently purchased!
