Dear Parents and Guardians:
After an exhaustive national search, we are excited to announce that we have found a highly qualified long-term principal to lead Visitation Catholic STEM Academy. Our new principal, Mr. Marc Nuno, comes to us with a wealth of knowledge in theology and education after leading as the Principal of the St. Raymond Catholic School community in Downey, CA, for the last three years. His experience as a principal and teacher in Catholic schools similar to ours, gives him a deep understanding of our community. Mr. Nuno has a BA in theology from Notre Dame, Indiana and a Masters in Education from Loyola Marymount, California. He is certified to teach in grades K-8. Before he became a principal, Mr. Nuno, taught 4th grade, 5th grade and middle school science and religion. Mr. Nuno hopes to continue securing the academic foundation and enhance the STEM program at our school over the next few years.
Mr. Nuno is a native of California and his wife’s family is from Tacoma, so he looks forward to becoming a valuable member of the Visitation Catholic STEM Academy and church community. We are blessed to have found someone with his strong academic and administrative background in Catholic education and willingness to move us forward in the positive direction that we have been going.
We have invited Mr. Nuno to spend a day at Visitation meeting students, parents, teachers and staff. Once we have the date of his visit confirmed we will announce it to the community. Miss Margetts will do all that she can to ensure there is a smooth, successful and easy transition for him and our community.
The Visitation community has always been gracious and welcoming which gives me great peace. I am confident that we will make this school the most successful school in Tacoma.
In the Peace of Christ,
Father Wichert - Pastor
Stephanie Margetts - Principal
