Message from the Principal
Today is the first day of Black History Month. I cannot believe we are in the month of February! I am incredibly excited that this week starts the 1st week of Black History Month.
A wise man, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., once said, “We are not makers of history. We are made by history.” During this month,we plan to celebrate those individuals that paved the foundation for us to continue to build on. I want to encourage our young scholars that their voices and words have power and when positively put to use can bring significant change. Teachers have planned many engaging activities for our young scholars to learn about a mixture of historical and current African American figures making a positive impact on society.
Coffee With the Principal
Coffee with the Principal is EVERY Thursday from 10:00am-10:15am in English, and 10:15am-10:30am in Spanish.

Here at IHCS, we continue to grow our teachers with ongoing professional development!
Month of January Middle School ELA teachers were offered two online StudySync training sessions which included professional development on StudySync resources and integrated and designated ELD.
For the month of February, all teachers K-8th teaching math were offered training on Mathletics and Mathseeds, which is our math supplemental program at IHCS.
There were also six Avid trainings offered for teachers to register for. Thank you Mrs. Hickey for setting up those PDs.

We at IHCS are committed to:
Making emotional connections that inspire and empower our students.
Fostering opportunities for critical thinking, creativity, and innovation.
Collaborating with staff to make sure the individual needs of students are being met.
