Distance Learning Announcements and Updates, 9/11/20

A Message from Principal Ghereben!

Greetings Proctor Families!

Thank you for partnering with us in another week of Distance Learning. With each week that passes, another learning curve is conquered!

Today marks a somber day of remembering those lost on September 11, 2001. The loss of life of thousands of citizens and first responders was and is still devastating. We will always remember that day, and the heroic actions of so many first responders. With so much still going on around us in the world, it's even more important to stop, reflect, be thankful for our health and safety, while holding tight to those whom we love.

Worsening air quality and the sky around us should remind us to continue to uplift our state, and the entire west coast in our thoughts and prayers during this time as so many are being affected by these devastating fires raging around us.

"The struggle we face today, will develop our strength for tomorrow." I found this quote the other day that reminded me that we will all be stronger through the hardships we face. I am thankful for this school community, knowing that we can and should lean on each other as we navigate through our current circumstances together.

As we move into our 5th week of Distance Learning, please read the many announcements and updates below. Take your time to read through all the links and resources attached.

Thank You for all Your Support,

Heather Ghereben

Proctor Principal

September 15 through October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month!

To help you celebrate and honor Hispanic Heritage Month with your students, I've compiled some resources for bringing Latinx voices to your homes and the classroom. I hope they help you uplift a diverse range of intersectional Hispanic and Latinx identities, experiences, cultures and histories.

CVUSD is fortunate to partner with Kinsa in the 2020-2021 school year to be able to offer free “Smart” thermometers to families for student use. Families register and the thermometers are shipped to us in order to distribute. The application and thermometer provide general information to families as well helpful health information to staff.
