Who-John D. Rockefeller was a man who was born on July,8,1839 in Richford,New York.After his life time he was estimated to have made over $1 billion.

What-He founded standard oil company in 1870.In the 1880's standard oil dominated the oil industry and had a net worth of about $55 million.

When-In 1870 John D. Rockefeller founded standard oil after starting a small business

outside Chicago.

Why-Do to the industrial age his goal in life was to be wealthy and use some thing no one has seen before.

Who-Alexander Graham Bell born March,3 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

What-Alexander Graham Bell made the tellaphone and made the first call ever on March,10 1876.

When-In 1876 Alexander Graham Bell made the first phone call and said"Mr.Watson come here I want to see you."

Why-He was a teacher at Boston University were he taught vocal physiology and elocution

at its school of oratory.

The Great Railroad Strike Of 1877

What-The strike was about want of better wages and higher pay.

Where-On July,14 1877 in Martinsburg,West Virginia the strike took place do to low pay for three years in a row.

When-In 1877 workers from Baltimore and Ohio railroad wanted better wages so they striked for forty-five days.

Why-They were payed low wages and were payed that way for three years in a row.

The Effect On American Indians

What-The effect on American Indians was huge the railroad ruined there way of life.over10,000 Indians died.

Where-In the Western part of America American Indians were losing there way of life because of the railroad.Men would shoot buffalo out of rail cars to end the Indians way of life.About 8 million buffalo were killed.

When -In 1865 there were about 12 to 15 million buffalo on the plains half were killed.

Who-With the railroad came war including the battle of little bighorn were Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, and as many as 11,000 indians died.
