Teacher of the Month

Congratulations to our January Teacher of the Month, Mr. Mitch Moehring. Mr. Moehring teaches 6-8th grade Orchestra at KMS.

Parent Night - Dangers of Social Media

Does your child want a homework pass to use on an assignment? Make plans to attend this informative parent meeting on Tuesday, January 26, at 6:30 in the KMS Gymnasium.

Kilgore ISD, Kilgore Police Department, and Smart Start Coalition have partnered together to bring Robert Hackenson, Jr. of Dynamic Influence to "edutain" parents and students. Robert will speak on underage drinking, the role social media plays in youth substance abuse, and specific steps parents can take to keep them safe.

PIZZA will be provided and attendees will be entered into door prize drawings! Please make plans to attend.

Academic and One Act Play UIL

We want to congratulate our Theater Department on receiving 2nd place overall with their production of The Trial of Goldilocks. We appreciate the hard work of the cast and sponsors, Ms. Mann and Mrs. Farmer.

Save the Date

Cheerleader Tryouts for current 7th graders will be the week of April 4 - 8, 2016.

According to Article III of the Cheerleader Constitution and the KMS Student Handbook, candidates must meet the following tryout criteria:

  • Overall average of 80 or above in each core subject
  • 90% attendance requirement
  • No major discipline referrals
  • No outstanding fees
  • Tryout forms must be turned in by deadline
  • Must adhere to tryout practice and rules
  • Must attend required parent meeting
