March 4 Updates

  • This past Tuesday, we had a fantastical salute to Dr. Seuss by our Primary students and teachers! I know you'll enjoy the photos below of the “Seussical” outfits. I think we set the all-time record for Cat in the Hat-s!

  • Upper elementary had a special guest on Thursday - our school founder, Karen Holt. She joined the class for a special reading and some meditation. The students were so excited to see her again! It was Ms. Holt’s first visit to campus since early in the fall.

  • Next week will be the spring administration of MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) testing. Students in grades 2-9 will participate.

  • Friday, March 11 will be an early dismissal day for students so that our teachers can spend the afternoon in professional development. Meanwhile, families can get a head start on their Spring Break plans!

  • It’s almost that time - Spring Forward to Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, March 13. Set your reminder now!

  • Spring Break will be Monday, March 14, through Friday, March 18. During this week, MSA lead teachers will be spending part of their break participating in the American Montessori Society (AMS) Annual Conference. Now that’s dedication! Our teachers eat, sleep, and “spring break” Montessori!

  • Don’t forget to sign-up for spring parent conferences! This is an important time to ask questions and learn about your child’s academic progress and personal growth. Conferences will be held the week after Spring Break (3/21-3/25).

Peace, Love, and Montessori,

Primary Zoo Visit

Students in the Primary classrooms had a visit from some animal friends from the Greenville Zoo a couple weeks ago. They learned all about different types of homes animals find, create, or carry with them. You can find a few photos of the scaly and feathery friends' visit below, and many more can be found at this link.
