From Principal Berg....

Happy Fall,

I hope this finds you adjusting to our rotating school day schedule whether online or in person and enjoying these beautiful fall days.

For the students attending school in person, please help remind him/her to come to school dressed for the weather daily. You might consider writing your child's name on outer layers so if they are lost, we can find the owner. We also have many donated winter coats, hats, and gloves we can provide for your child if they need any, just let us know.

This 'Yellow COVID-19 Safety Plan' is becoming our new normal and I am so very proud of the kids, our staff, and all of you for how we have all adjusted.

We thank you for your continued help with all of these safety precautions:

  • Drop Off & Pick Up through the drive up lane only (no need to park)
  • Keeping those sick kids home and for communicating with our office when they are sick/absent.
  • Masks/Face Coverings required by everyone in the building
  • Social Distancing practices continue
  • Hand Washing upon entry into building and all learning rooms
  • Sending in water bottles for kids to fill
  • Only district staff and students allowed in buildings
  • Curb Side Check In/Check Out if you need to drop off or pick up anything (634-2219)

We are learning to find the joys and celebrations in each and every day. It was truly a great first month of school. Please reach out to the school at (208) 634-2219 or email me at vberg@mdsd.org with any questions you have.

School Safety Drills

We take school safety seriously. We have been busy practicing all of our drills to help teach our students and staff about best practices/procedures in the event we ever need it. We will continue to practice four types of drills on a regular basis.

  1. Evacuations
  2. Reverse Evacuations
  3. Hall Checks
  4. Lockdowns

In the event any of these are NOT a drill, we will utilize our Powerschool Alert System to notify you via text/email/phone call.

Free Flu Vaccination Clinic

McCall-Donnelly School District in partnership with Central District Health (CDH) will be providing a flu vaccination clinic for students on Wednesday, October 14. This year the flu vaccine is more important than ever with COVID-19 circulating. With an aim to keep our students as healthy as possible, we encourage all eligible students to receive the flu vaccination as we enter the 2020 flu season. We are hopeful that by offering this pop-up clinic within the School District your student(s) will have access to the vaccine that is convenient and free of charge.

The CDH will be on-site OCTOBER 14 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Multi-Purpose Room at Payette Lakes Middle School. To encourage social distancing, we ask that only one parent/guardian accompany their child(ren) to be vaccinated. Each family member should wear a mask and be cognizant of social distance while in the building. CDH will vaccinate any child 6 months to 18 years of age. Please find attached letters from CDH as well as the forms that will need to be completed prior to each student receiving vaccination in your email sent out by the district earlier this week.

Please contact MDSD School Nurse, Brenna Riggers, with any questions. briggers@mdsd.org OR call 208-634-2219 ext. 3205.
