Lakeview Elementary - We Know Every Child by Name & by Need
May 18, 2018
Hello Lakeview Families!
Hello Lakeview Families!
It is hard to believe we are in the single digits for the number of school days left! We are savoring our last days. The next 2 weeks are busy with our Speeding to Read field trip, end of year class celebrations, and graduations.
Please read below for important information and dates for the upcoming weeks.
Speeding to Read Field Trip - May 23
- Please apply sunblock before heading to school in the morning
- Send your student with a water bottle - it is going to be warm!
- Send your student with a hat
- We ask students to bring a sack lunch as we will be eating lunch campus wide once we return from the Speedway.
Parents who would like to attend the event:
If parents access the facility off Hwy 114, they will take Lone Star Circle to the B-5 tower entrance or Victory Circle to Petty Place and into the B-5 tower area. If they come off Hwy 156, they would take Petty Place directly in. Those coming off 35W South can take Dale Earnhardt Way that becomes Victory Circle and left onto Petty Place. TMS staff will be there to direct parents into the Gate 5 VIP Parking Lot that will be adjacent to where the busses will park. Parents will enter separately from the students through Gate 5. Their seating is directly in front of the stage so they need to come down the stands to the stage. If parents like, they can sit in the grandstand seats where they enter and adjacent to the students. They will have bathrooms open for them in their section on the concourse.
It should be a great day celebrating our students and their reading success!
Student Medication Pick UP
If your child has medication at school, it will need to be picked up from Nurse Weaver by the last day of school on June 1st. Thank you!

Camp Invention 2018 Hosted at Lakeview
Camp Invention still needs Leadership Interns (students entering 10-12th grades) to help facilitate Lakeview’s Camp Invention. It’s a great opportunity for high school students to earn community service and it’s an opportunity you can add to those college applications J Below is a description of the intern positions—if you have a student who is interested, please contact Mrs. Andrews (caitlin.andrews@nisdtx.org ) or Tricia Hanson at (thanson@nisdtx.org ).
PTA Remind 101 Account
We wanted to let you know about a new way to help you stay connected to the latest Lakeview PTA news. We’ve set-up a Remind 101 account just for the PTA. If you aren’t familiar, Remind 101 allows you to sign up to receive texts from a specific group. We love the idea that we can quickly get information out to our parents. To join, you can text @tclakeview to 81010 OR click this link: https://www.remind.com/join/tclakeview
