Maire newsletter: November 13th Edition
Dear Maire Families,
Maire is an amazing place to be, even if that is not a physical place right now. Our dedicated staff members have worked incredibly hard to transition back to virtual learning and are continuing to make the best lessons and experiences for the students. We know everyone misses being here, and that the transition is hard, but working with a positive attitude is going to set the tone for the important work we still have to do. Positive attitudes at home and at school are how we can continue on and do this well.
As of right now there has been no update from the district on if things will change. The decision was made to do this for two weeks to help reset the quarantines happening across the district from staff and students. The rising numbers in the state and in our local community have drastically impacted who can attend school. The district will continue to monitor the Covid cases and close contacts even during this time away so that we can be prepared in case we return after the two weeks so everyone is safe. As soon as we know more information we will share that out. In the meantime, we need to be flexible and be ready. We know face-to-face is best and we want to be back if it's safe.
If you need anything please feel free to reach out to the Maire office. We have support set up for families if there is hardship caused by Covid. We are here if you need us. Together we can do anything!

Free Meals and Title Grant Funding
It is critically important for our Title grant funding that families who think they might be eligible fill out the free and reduced lunch application online. It is confidential and only takes minutes, but greatly impacts the federal and state funding our district receives. The meals are exactly the same. The drop in applications this fall may be attributed to the fact all Chartwells meals are currently free through the USDA grant. Please take a moment and help us ensure we can continue to offer programs through Title funding. On days when students are in school they can order lunch through Chartwells at all buildings, and again that is free this year due to the federal grant.
Need Breakfast and Lunch?
Every Wednesday at North High School, 707 Vernier, a week's worth of breakfasts and lunches may be picked up from 11:30-2:30.
