Department Updates
Here are some fun things that have been going on:
- After both Critical Incident Stress management trainings filling up, MSHN agreed to fund one more training, scheduled for the end of August at Eaton RESA. If you know of someone interested in being a responder in the community, we should have the training ready for registration today or tomorrow.
- Rhonda, Jodi, and I conducted interviews for Robin's replacement last Friday. More to come as things move forward.
- Kim and Micki are attending a SAPE retreat Friday, August 5 through Tuesday, August 9th. SAPE has a long-standing partnership with Eaton RESA. We will share this relationship at a staff meeting this year.
-
Admin Evaluator Training ~ Rhonda and I will be attending training for admin evaluations at Ionia ISD on Tuesday, August 2 and Wednesday, August 3. This is a result of legislation that went in to law last school year.
Purchase Cards are coming our way. To start, Polly, Laurie, and I will have these cards for department purchases. We will put in a process to request purchases being made with these cards that will require planning. Something to keep in mind is that while these cards will be helpful to us, no one has the capacity to make last minute purchases. The cards all have a monthly and daily limit, so for major purchases (multiple hotel rooms), it may still be better to use the check system on occasion.
Charisse Tuell from Child and Family Charities will be attending a Nurturing Parent Train the Trainer in Oregon on behalf of our department and region. We are thrilled that we will have a local trainer that can re-grow our capacity for parenting programs.
- Matthew Provoast is working on the ECSAAG and ISAP websites to get them looking good and working.
- Rhonda and Kim are working on an IS handbook - more to come on that!
- Send me your vacation pics and I'll post them in a future newsletter (I've lifted a couple for today).
To Do's
- Educator Evaluator Training: With the change in legislation on certified staff educator evaluations, ERESA has committed to the Charlotte Danielson model for EIEA staff. ERESA will be hosting training on Friday, October 14, and Friday, October 28, 2016 in the QUAD. Please reserve your calendar for one of these dates. I expect this will be communicated at-large at a later date.
- Time Sheets: I am going to be out of town next Monday and Tuesday. Please try to have your timesheets to me by Thursday of this week, especially the additional contract timesheets!
- Fill out pre-conference forms for the SUD conference in September. Laurie will keep these all together and register everyone at once.
