8th Grade End of Year Activities - Paint your Block!
As the end of the school year looms, our 8th graders are finalizing their final tasks as QH Falcons. The months of May and June are extra busy! Now is the time to leave your mark at Quail and "paint a personal brick" along the hallways of Quail! 8th graders must pay $10 to Ms. Leeper to register for block painting.
View the full list of 8th grade tasks here and mark your calendars for these fun and important events!
Students Keeping Falcon Cafe "In Line"
Past QH student Karsen Ferner, now a 9th grader at South Meck, constructed much needed stancheons (line guards) for our Falcon Cafe. Karsen made the stancheons as a Scout project and donated them to QHMS. We are VERY grateful, and like them so much we've asked for more! QH 7th graders Davis Ferner and Zane Davis assisted with the stanchions.

ATHLETICS & WELLNESS
Sports Spotlight on Falcon Baseball
Being a part of the Quail Hollow Middle School baseball team for the past two years has been a fantastic experience for me and my teammates. We have definitely learned that you don't need to win to have a good time and improve on the field, and that winning is a combination of things such as; hard work, dedication, competitiveness, and the cohesiveness of the team. I certainly believe that this season every single one of my teammates showed exemplary amounts of all of these things. While our record might have not shown it, all of these qualities were definitely evident through the way we conducted ourselves on the field.
Being a part of the Baseball team at Quail Hollow Middle School has been one of the highlights of my entire middle school career. The opportunity to make new friends, grow closer to friends, play my favorite sport, and grow as a player have been amazing over these past two years. Every practice and game was not only an opportunity to improve my skills and proudly represent my school, but also an opportunity to have a great time with my team. I will never forget the great game that we had playing against Jay M. Robinson this year and being able to be starting pitcher in our first win of the season. Times like these are what made this season such a great time for all of us.
Our team consisted of only eleven players, two of which were injured during a portion of the season leaving us with the minimum players required to play. Even in these conditions, my team never gave up and continued to persevere through hard times. Only six of our team members have had experience on a travel or advanced team, and some of our players had only played baseball for a year or two. It was great to witness more inexperienced players come such a long way in just one season to become good players.
I plan to try out for the South Meck High School Baseball Team next year, and it will be an honor to take all that I learned these past two years on the baseball team at Quail Hollow Middle to the field at South Meck!
