After School Homework Help
After school homework help will be taking place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 - 3:45 in the West library. Please encourage your children to attend as after school homework help time will be a great opportunity to not only get help, but also get organized, and get caught up.
Activity Wednesday on 1/20
We will be practicing and playing an in-person. We hope this will be a time for students to play, connect with others, and have lots of fun. Any West student may participate and there is no need to sign-up. Any students participating can report to the cafeteria at 2:30 on Wednesday. Students not attending school in-person on an activity Wednesday may be dropped off by a parent/guardian at the main entrance and report to the cafeteria. We will continue to be extremely diligent at following all health and safety protocols.
Ursinus Mentoring
We are pleased to announce we will soon be starting a new round of our Ursinus Mentoring Program! This unique community partnership pairs our PV middle school students with student mentors from Ursinus College. Goals for the partnerships range from academic help, goal setting and advice on preparing for high school, college, and beyond, to simply staying connected during these challenging times....and to have some fun while doing so! If interested, please register with this link. The form is restricted to PV users only, so parents will need to register with their child.
https://forms.gle/Ny2Ln4DnPg8peufB6
The program will begin the first week of February and run through the last week of April. Please register by Wednesday 1/27. Sessions run from 3-4, via Zoom. Students can sign up for either the Monday/Wednesday sessions, or the Tuesday/Thursday sessions. All students are eligible, and there is no cost to the program. But, space is limited so please register soon! If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Courtney Rhone, crhone@pvsd.org.
I hope that you will take the time to register for this engaging program.
MLK Day of Service
The PVSD Day of Service is coming up on Monday, Jan. 18, and we are excited to announce our plans. Since we cannot join together in a large crowd like we usually do to complete projects, we are providing a number of different ways for families to serve that are safe and socially distant.
Check out our website for details, MLK Day of Service 2021.
CALCUSOLVE Competition
Calling all 7th and 8th grade students who LOVE math! Math Club is pleased to announce West’s participation in CALCUSOLVE, a free math competition. During the competition, a team of up to 4 students will work both individually and as a team to solve problems that will put their mathematical skills to the test. The competition is scheduled for Wednesday, February 10th from 9 AM to 11:30 AM via Zoom. Questions? Contact Missy Kashey, mkashey@pvsd.org
For more information or to register, review see the attached information sheet.

From there we are developing actionable solutions and restorative justice practices to create change.
Lunch Bunch Friendship Group - (During lunch on Mondays and Fridays) for all students maintaining friendships while we are socially distancing at school and virtually. This will be an in-person group only.
LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, or Questioning) A group for students identifying as LGBTQ to create a safe and a judgement free space in school.
