NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 10 | 6 APRIL 2023

Rebecca Clarke | Principal
Dear parents and caregivers,
Today, we concluded a very busy first term with a lovely, reflective Stations of the Cross. The Stations of the Cross, also called the Way of the Cross, are a 14-step Catholic devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ's last day on Earth as a man. The Year Four students took us through each station focussing on specific events of Jesus’ last day, beginning with Palm Sunday. At each station, the students recalled and reflected on a specific event from Christ's last day. Thank you to Mrs Curtis for preparing such a beautiful liturgy and to the Year Four students for guiding us through Jesus’ walk to Calvary.
Yesterday, I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon and evening with our Year Six Campers at Woodman Point Recreation Camp! This camp is an important part of the Year Six journey and a great opportunity for our students to foster lasting friendships and make life-long memories. Students participated in activities that enhanced their team building and leadership skills. Yet again, this group of your people impressed me with their outstanding behaviour and willingness to ‘have-a-go’ attitude at some challenging activities. A big thank you also to Mr Rebeiro, Mrs Fernandez and Miss Collins for organising such a wonderful experience for our students.
Thank you to our school community for supporting the fundraising and friendraising events that we have held this term, all of them were successful. The P&F have worked very hard behind the scenes, and I thank them all for it. I extend my gratitude to Margaret Quirk, MLA, for donating the main Easter Raffle prize and to Mrs Harris and Mrs Spencer who did a wonderful job selling the tickets before and after school. Congratulations to Grace (Year 3), Savannah (PP) and Harlow (Year 1).
To finish off a fantastic term, I would like to wish everyone a happy and Holy Easter and a relaxing holiday. For those that may be travelling around our beautiful state, please stay safe. I look forward to seeing everyone return for Term 2 on Wednesday April 26.
