Honor Roll

Each of the first three quarters, our school works with our amazing PTO to recognize the students who have earned Honor Roll status. The largest number of students appear on this list during the first quarter. After that the numbers generally shrink each quarter as new and more challenging content and skills are introduced.

This year our PTO will be hosting an ice cream treat day on November 30th. Honor Roll students will get a ticket to get some ice cream at lunch, but they will also get an Honor Roll Ribbon as a keepsake.

We want our kids to work their hardest and strive to do their best at Wredling. We are proud of all of our RedHawks who work hard each day and set personal goals for academic achievement.

Another Anonymous App

As social media continues to evolve, new apps are constantly being released. It is really hard to keep abreast of the new developments in this realm. Our only defenses are a strong offense and research!

A new app that is gaining popularity among teens and pre-teens is TBH, which stands for To Be Honest. Again, this is one of those "anonymous" apps we have been sending information about periodically. This app appears to get some positive and some negative reviews.

Here are a couple of articles we found when researching:

Article 2

Feel free to do your own research and make your own decision regarding this and other social media apps your children have/or ask to have on their devices. Knowledge is power!

Join Our Rise Program and Be Kind for 25!

Our RISE program kicked off our 25 days of kindness that will take us all the way to Winter Break. No act of kindness is too small! Join us in brightening someone's day by paying forward acts of kindness! The pictures below show what we are up to:

We would like your student to share what they are doing as well. They can write a story, tell us what they are doing, or take a picture of an act of kindness! Submit it to room 409 or email Mrs. Casey and we will add their act of kindness to the front display case for everyone to see.

If they receive an act of kindness, please pay it forward! If you get a chance, stop by the display case for some inspiration or just to see what we are up to!

Above all, Be Kind!

Please Be Careful!

As the sun is setting earlier please be extra careful when picking up your child from after school activities. Use caution and watch out for both students and staff crossing the circular drive in front of the school.

Please wait for ALL pedestrians to cross before driving around them - especially with the more slippery weather upon us.

Thank you!

Gordon Korman Author Visit!

Wredling was honored and excited to host author, Gordon Korman yesterday afternoon. His visit began with a book signing event for his Redhawk fans, followed by an unforgettable presentation on his life, career, and books for all sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. Thank you, Gordon Korman, for such a special opportunity for our students and staff!

We even made the Daily Herald!

Calling all musicians!

A representative from Blue Lake Summer Music Camp will be visiting Wredling on Friday, December 1st to do scholarship auditions during all performance music periods. NO auditions will take place after school. In order to be eligible for an audition time you MUST have a signed permission slip from a parent. Music directors will be handing out the permission slips. Instrumental students that are interested in auditioning should prepare two scales and an excerpt of a prepared piece, while vocalists should prepare several vocal warm-ups and an excerpt of a prepared song. Good luck on your audition!

D303 United Special Olympics (SO) Basketball Debut Game!

Our D303 United Special Olympics (SO) Basketball Team had their debut game on Wednesday, November 15th in the Wredling Gym. There was a great deal of enthusiasm from both the players and the crowd cheering on our athletes! There were lots of smiles and great sportsmanship shown between the players. Mark this one a in the books as a huge success!!! We look forward to their next contest scheduled in December.

"I think everyone should volunteer for Special Olympics because if you give an athlete one minute of your time, they'll give you their heart." - Dustin Plunkett, Global Messenger for the Special Olympics.

"Encouragement is like oxygen to the human spirit. Don't forget you're carrying someone else's air. Encourage them; help them breathe." -Jeremy Riddle
