March Madness!

Dear Colgan High School CFPA Families,

It is hard to believe that we are in the third quarter of the 2018-2019 school year!

We were disappointed that the 24 Hour Playfest Lock In had to be cancelled. There was an effort to reschedule, however, there were no dates available to host the event. We look forward to hosting this event next year!

The CFPA Boosters did host the 2nd Annual CFPA Student Council Banquet on March 4, 2019. The theme was "Decades." Special shout outs to Ms. Blair and Ms. Robertson for table top decorations along with the special assistance of Mr. Ordway, Mr. Watts, Mr. Sanders, the CFPA Student Council and the coordination of Rebecca Shields and her team of volunteers! We had a great turn out of students and families. The collaboration of all the CFPA concentrations was terrific! The performances, food, and fellowship was a great way to celebrate our CFPA Seniors!

Thank you to the Colgan CFPA Student Council, administration, staff, and CFPA families that provided donations, and the CFPA families that volunteered their time to help set up and clean up. THANK YOU!

The CFPA has been busy with fundraising! We sold out of the 2018 White House Ornaments and made over $450 in winter spirit gear sales! We also profitted over $1000 from the two day March Dance Compeition Concessions. Thank you to all those that donated items and volunteered to work the concessions.

In an effort to fulfill our mission to support CFPA students and activities, we have been able to financially support the CFPA Picnic, CFPA Banquet, students in need for school field trips, and provide drinks and snacks for CFPA students when needed. This is thanks to ALL of YOU! This was one of the reasons the CFPA Boosters was formed. Opportunities and support...for ALL.

We have a PAYPAL account! Please share with others that the CFPA Boosters now has a PAYPAL account link on our CFPA Booster website. If you have family and friends that want to support our fundraising efforts, they can by making a donation. The CFPA Booster website has a "DONATE" tab that they can click to make a donation. Any donation amount is welcomed! THANK YOU!

In other news...we are holding a spirit wear design contest for the Spring Spirit Gear. Designs for the contest are due to Mrs. Burns by March 25, 2019. We hope to have the spririt gear available on our online store on the CFPA Booster website soon! Be sure to check it out!

The CFPA Boosters are gearing up for the 2019-2020 Board Directors/Officers voting. If you are interested in serving on the Executive Board of the CFPA Boosters, please be sure to attend the March 20th and April 24th CFPA Booster meetings. Nominees will be accepted. All positions are available. Voting for officers will take place during the May 15th meeting.

Thank you for your time, dedication, and support!

Sincerely,

Anaid Mikesh

CFPA Booster President

Hello everyone.

We are excited to be offering three $500 Senior Scholarships this year!

So while your hovering over those various forms, give a little thought about what the CFPA has meant to you during your time at Colgan because the CFPA Booster will be recognizing three seniors for our Outstanding Senior Scholarship. The committee has worked hard and has the 2018-2019 CFPA SCholarship available. You can access the scholarship application in the link below. Scholarship Applications are due Wednesday, April 10, 2019

Last years awardees, Xavier Smith and Clarence Brown, continue to make us proud at VCU and Hampton University. We could not think of a better way to recognize their hard work and contributions to the Arts than awarding them scholarships. Now it’s your turn. The CFPA Boosters looks forward to awarding three $500 scholarships this year. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask at the next general Booster Meeting on March 20, 2019.
