FACTS

Please note that changes in FACTS must be made 48 hours before payment due date! Once FACTS has started pulling the funds we have to wait until they post to take further corrective action.

Lunch

Many children bring food at lunch time that needs warming up. It takes about 2 to 3 minutes per child to warm up food. This year students are eating lunch in the classrooms and there is only 1 microwave per building, meaning 4 classes will share the microwave.

Please be aware of this while packing your child's lunch! Thank you!

After School Care Pick Up

3K-K M-F, 3:15-5:30, please go through gate in the playground area. It will be the first door on the left if they are not outside. Please do not enter the building.

1st – 8th M-F, 3:30-5:30, in the cafeteria. Pick up will be at the cafeteria door facing the courtyard/office, please do not enter the building.

Middle School Athletics

Middle school athletics will be at the ACS campus until further notice. They will dismiss at 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

All Middle School students will need to wear the athletics uniform this year. Please contact Coach Stroud with any questions regarding the athletics uniform: jstroud@angelocatholicschool.org

Attention Second Grade Families

In our diocese, second grade students prepare for their First Holy Communion. ACS will prepare your student, but it is the responsibility of the Parish to certify; therefore, ensure you have registered with your parish and are fulfilling all their requirements, so your child can receive his/her First Holy Communion this Spring. Each parish may have different criteria, so it is important to discuss this with the parish CRE/DRE or priest.

Oktober Fiesta-PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Oktober Fiesta is Angelo Catholic School's largest fundraising event of the year! The funds raised at Oktober Fiesta support the school budget and allow us to continue to offer financial assistance to our families. In years past Oktober Fiesta has been an all day event for the whole family with games, live auction, brisket and sausage meal, vendors and more! Oktober Fiesta will look different this year, so please read below to be up to date on all the changes:

Shirts

Every year our Fiesta shirts are sponsored by local businesses. Our sponsors this year are: Garcia Farms, Pestmaster Services, Premier Automotive, Trudos, and Zesch & Pickett Insurance. Thanks to these generous sponsors every student at ACS will receive a Fiesta t-shirt! These t-shirts can be worn on Fridays. Parents are encouraged to purchase Oktober Fiesta shirts for $10. Order forms will be sent home when the shirt design has been finalized.

Volunteering

Parents are required (per the parent/student handbook and tuition contract) to volunteer 4 hours during Oktober Fiesta weekend. Because Oktober Fiesta will not take place in person this year the Fiesta committee has voted to allow parents to "buy out" their volunteer hours. A signup genius will be sent to parents slotting physical volunteer times (to go food pick up) and donation amounts for the buy out. More details for volunteering will be sent via e-mail with the Sign Up Genius link.

Raffle Tickets

This year we will still be selling Raffle Tickets! Each student is required to sell 100 raffle tickets (at $1/each) but are encouraged to sell as many tickets as possible! Tickets will go home with students today and ticket stubs should be returned to the office no later than Friday, October 23 at noon. The Fiesta committee is working on launching a virtual platform for students to sell raffle tickets and we will update parents as soon as it is up and running!

The students that sell the most raffle tickets will receive a prize! Prizes are TBD

Auction

We will be moving our auction to an online platform! Students will work with their teachers and home room parents to create an auction item. Other auction items can be brought to the main office M-F, 8am-4pm. Part of the Volunteer buy out will include auction item donations: an item valued at $50 or more or a monetary donation of $50= 1 hour.

To Go Brisket Plates

This year we will still serve our Oktober Fiesta meal: a Brisket plate with beans, potato salad, drink and dessert. This will be a drive up service and we will have volunteers running food to cars.

Student Talent Show

Oktober Fiesta is an event for ACS students! This year we will not have any of the in person activities that our students love, so we will be hosting a virtual talent show! Students can work alone or in groups to create a video showcasing their talent and submit the video to the talent show! These talent show videos will be featured on the ACS Facebook page and website on October 25! More details about the talent show guidelines will be sent out via e-mail!

Sacraments

Has your child received a Sacrament in 2020? We want to celebrate them! Please send an e-mail to the office with the student's name, sacrament received, date of sacrament and a picture if possible! We will post these in our newsletter!

New Family Referral Program

Parents are the best promoters of a Catholic school education and we want to thank you for recommending Angelo Catholic School to your family and friends. Through our New Family Referral Program, you will receive a $150 tuition credit for each new family you refer to Angelo Catholic School who enrolls a full-time student, meets all admission requirements and attends ACS for a full school year in good standing. The newly enrolled family will also receive a $150 tuition credit!

Tuition credits will be applied to the referring family’s account and the newly enrolled family's account after the new student has attended school for one year.

To take advantage of this program be sure to contact the office with the names of families you have referred within 2 weeks of their enrollment. *These families will not be contacted by the ACS office (unless specifically requested), this step is simply to ensure that we have record of your referrals to properly award the tuition credit.

Did you know?

ACS families can send in prayer requests to the office! These prayer requests will be listed at the bottom of each Newsletter. We encourage you to scroll down, read through the prayer requests, and keep our ACS students, families, and intentions in your prayers!

Coronavirus Prayer, Diocese of San Angelo

Almighty and ever-living God,

we turn to you in this hour of urgent need.

We depend completely on you.

We humbly beg you

to pour out your mercy on us all.

Purify our hearts.

Turn us from fear to deeper faith.

Make us more aware of your nearness

in the midst of our pain.

For those who are ill now,

bring patience and healing.

For those searching for a remedy,

guide them by the light of your Holy Spirit.

For medical caregivers helping the sick,

strengthen and protect them.

For those working to eradicate this scourge,

grant them success.

For those who are anxious and afraid,

give them peace.

For all who have died from this disease,

have mercy on their souls.

May your infinite power

be our defense and our salvation.

We ask you this through Christ out Lord.

Amen.
