Central Elementary
Learning. Creating. Succeeding.
Central Ranks #1
The results are in and once again our students' performance on the 2018-2019 M-Step Test led the way in Genesse county. Central Elementary was ranked #1 in both math and ELA. Year in and year out our dedicated teachers work hard to establish rigorous academic standards. We strive to have all students achieve academic success and a quality education. By keeping that bar high and partnering with our students and families, we continue to be the pride of Linden!
Dime Drive
Our students collected over $484 in dimes and other change. The class that collected the most was Mrs. Fitzgerald's 4th grade class. An extra recess and $50 classroom gift card was their prize for leading the way. All proceeds from the Dime Drive go into our PALS group to fund The Native American Experience assemblies.
Geddy Up!
Despite the weather conditions, students from Mrs. Sulick and Mrs. Persyn's had a great time at Wildwood Ranch. The students experienced a variety of activities. They groomed and rode horses, went on hayrides, read stories and played with Limas. The class returned a little wet and cold, but when asked about the experience one student replied "its magical!"
Pretty in Pink
October was Breast Cancer Awareness month. Every Wednesday the staff and students wore pink shirts to support and bring awareness to breast cancer. Thanks for all the support!
Trailblazers
The Trailblazers finished up their fall running club. The students had a great time running and learning about physical health. We had over 30 students participate in the fall Trailblazers club. We want to thanks Mrs. O'Connell and Mrs. Cooke for making the program so successful.
Who Let the Dogs Out?
Mid-Michigan Therapy Dogs visited our school for the day. The dogs were a real comfort and joy to our students. Besides the companionship provided by these dogs, the students interacted and even read with the dogs. It was a positive experience for our students, and we can't wait for the next visit.
Popcorn Winners!
Two lucky students won Ms. Churches' popcorn raffle. With every bag of popcorn sold the student received a ticket for a chance to win a movie prize package. All monies raised from popcorn sales supports our classrooms.
Store is Open
The student council school store is now open during lunch. Each Thursday, student council representatives will be at the store table in the lunchroom. Students can buy a variety of items from pencils, erasers and other neat and unique school supplies. All proceeds go directly back to the student council in order to fund their activities that help promote our school.
Making Learning Fun!

Mr. Sinn's Class
Mrs. Fitzgerald's Class
Spring Flowers
Mrs. Stark's class planted flowers outside their classroom window. They planted a variety of 25 tulips. We can't wait to see them arrive in spring. #SchoolPride!
S.O.A.R
The entire school reviewed Central Elementary behavior expectations. S.O.A.R. is an acronym for Stay Safe, Offer Kindness, Act Responsibly and Remember Respect. Every class rotated to specific areas of the building and discussed behavior expectations for that location.
Socktober Drive
Our student council organized a Socktober during the month of October. Students brought in socks and gloves throughout the month in order to help out those in need. The donations go to Clara's Hope in Fenton. This is an organization which distributes to the Foster Care System. Our Central Elementary students collected 900 pairs of socks and gloves. Mrs. Koledo's class donated the most items and in doing so, won a pizza party. This was a great project done for a great cause!
