FAC Weekly Update
August 27, 2021
Good afternoon, Fine Arts Center Family
I hope you have had a wonderful week! We are transitioning away from ice-breakers, orientations, covering class syllabi, and going over studio procedures, and are now digging into the real work. The FAC studios have a quiet intensity to them...you see students performing their first monologue of the year, making sketchbooks from scratch, learning the basic fundamentals of photography and drawing, sharing art portfolios, taking first steps on their new musical journey, and much more. There is a lot going on in the outside world, but in our studios, we are committed to providing a safe and focused environment for our students to thrive!
Here is the latest from the halls of the Fine Arts Center...
This Week's Student Leadership Lesson
"Integrity is not what we do so much as who we are. And who we are, in turn, determines what we do. Our system of values is so much a part of us that we cannot separate it from ourselves. It becomes the navigating system that guides us. It establishes priorities in our lives and judges what we will accept or reject.
Integrity binds our person together and fosters a spirit of contentment within us. It will not allow our lips to violate our hearts. When integrity is the referee, we will be consistent; our beliefs will be mirrored by our conduct. There will be no discrepancy between what we appear to be and what our family knows we are, whether in times of prosperity or adversity. It frees us to be whole persons no matter what comes our way."
John C. Maxwell - The Maxwell Daily Reader, p. 262
