Last Month of Summer Reading Challenge
“Get in the Game” is our Last Month of Summer Reading Challenge. This program encourages East Lee Middle School students to read for fun. Students who complete four books of recreational reading and completes the reading log, has a chance to win a “Get in the Game” Basket. The basket will have lots of goodies such as: School Supplies, Rocket T-Shirt, Goodies to munch on, and 2 Durham Bulls Tickets. The “Get in the Game” Last Month Reading Challenge is a great way to motivate students to read.
East Lee Middle School strongly recommends that students read at least four books over the last month of summer. We encourage students to consider reading any book that matches interests with an appropriate reading level. Students, when you finish each book, all you have to do is fill out the short form below and have your parent or guardian sign to indicate that you have been seen reading it. On September 2, 2016 your teacher will ask you to pass in the form. In case you misplace it, the form will be available on the East Lee Middle school website or at the link below.

AVID Notebooks
Organization is an important skill in school, career and other aspects of daily life. The AVID binder is an organizational tool to help students maintain notes and school work in one place. Students are expected to maintain a binder, which has been provided to them along with all of the necessary items needed. They are expected to keep it organized using the AVID methods they have been taught.
Students will be evaluated on organization and whether they have all of their materials for every class in their binder. The binder will be evaluated and taken as a grade. Students will have time during I/E to organizing and complete their notes.
