Hello, Lions~

On behalf of the Las Positas staff, welcome back to the 2021-22 school as we move forward through a global pandemic. It gives us great joy as we greet each student and parent to the 2021-2022 school year and offer a special welcome to all who are new to our school.

As most of you know, this will be my first year at Las Positats and I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you. This will be my 23rd year in education. I started as a Chemistry teacher and was an Assistant Principal at a high school in Orange USD and a principal at an elementary school in Placentia Yorba Linda USD prior to my journey of joining you here at Las Positas. I have been happily married for almost 23 years and am blessed with 2 wonderful boys. My oldest is going into 3rd year in college and my younger will be starting college this fall. My family loves to play cards together and spend time "going" to church.

This is LHCSD's 125th year and Las Positas first year of being certified for the IB progam, and we anticipate a strong educational program that is enriching with many special learning opportunities for all. It is our sincere desire to make your stay here a pleasant and profitable educational experience for your child. We have the world's best staff, and it is our hope that the school and home can work together to provide academic, social, physical, and personal growth of our students.

Las Positas has legal traffic parameters during school hours. Please take a look at this map and only drive in from the Sandlewood Ave. side.

Drop Off

Have your child ready by making sure that they have their masks available (required indoors) and backpacks on.

Stay in your car

Be Patient & Smile & wave to the staff.

Pick-up (Please, remain in your cars.)

• Drive thru the valet line & display the name paper, (will be provided)

First week maybe slightly different as we familiarize & fine tune the routine. Thank you for your patience.

On Monday, Aug 9th, you will be able to look up your child's classroom teacher information. We will also send this paper out. Please have your child bring this paper with them so that we can help them go to the right class.

• Session 1 at 6:00 - 6:30 PM
• Session 2 at 6:40 - 7:10 PM
