The Student Engagement and Counseling Services Department has compiled a list of scholarship opportunities that range from elementary to high school. Below are the JANUARY scholarship listings.


Local scholarships are highlighted in blue.


LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP SPOTLIGHT

EECU GLENN MANDEVILE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Fort Worth ISD seniors are encouraged to apply to become a recipient of the EECU Glenn Mandeville Memorial Scholarship.


Recipients of this scholarship must:


  • Applicant must be a high school senior
  • Applicant or parent/legal guardian must be a Member in good standing with EECU
  • Applicant must express on their application his/her intended field of study
  • Recipient of scholarship funds must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 to receive annual distribution funds
  • The scholarship must be used for the purpose of study at an accredited college or university
  • Academic achievement, character, leadership and personal recommendations will be considered in the selection of scholarship recipients

DEADLINE: JANUARY 31

TEXAS STUDENT HOUSING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Fort Worth ISD seniors are encouraged to apply to become a recipient of the TEXAS STUDENT HOUSING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. This renewal scholarship is valued at $2500 per year for 4-years.


Recipients of this scholarship must/submit:


  • Be accepted to colleges in College Station or Denton, Texas, that have NOT signed off-campus housing leases with a TSH facility managed by Asset Campus Housing
  • Submit transcript, SAT/ACT scores, GPA, and application package
  • Maintain a college grade point average of 3.0 for renewal of the scholarship in subsequent years

JUNTOS SE PUEDE SCHOLARSHIP

Fort Worth ISD seniors are encouraged to apply to become a recipient of the Juntos Se Puede Scholarship.


Recipients of this full tuition scholarship must be/submit:


  • Must be a resident of the city of Fort Worth, Texas

  • Provide official/unofficial high school transcript
  • Provide page (1) of parent or guardian's 2021 or 2022 tax return
  • Must be a high school graduate by June 2023
  • Must complete the essay portion of the application
  • Must complete and sign the scholarship application
  • Letters of recommendation
  • (OPTIONAL) Provide proof of community/volunteer hours or work. If you choose to list community/volunteer hours, please be prepared to submit proof of hours.

Join the more than 3,000 families who have already applied for a Fort Worth ISD Gold Seal Program or School of Choice for their students. The application deadline is Jan. 6, 2023.


Go to www.fwisd.org/choices to apply. That’s where you’ll also find the Gold Seal Choices Catalog, and the Choices Overview video in English and Spanish.


Fort Worth ISD Gold Seal Programs and Schools of Choice give families the power to choose an education that’s a match for their student’s interests, learning style, and college and career dreams. Some programs start as early as kindergarten.


Programs include industry-driven P-Tech academies, automotive technology, cybersecurity, cosmetology, and fine arts, just to name a few. Gold Seal Early College High Schools allow students to earn enough college credits to earn their associate degree tuition-free. And spaces are still available!
