Stage 4 Hybrid Learning
Albemarle County Schools will enter Stage 4 on March 15. In stage 4, Western Albemarle High School will deliver instruction through a hybrid model, including a combination of face-to-face and virtual instruction.
If you would like to change the learning preference for your child to either hybrid or fully virtual, please contact your child’s school counselor. Decisions made on the intent form in December were considered binding, thus allowing our staff to plan accordingly. We will do our best to accommodate requests on a case-by-case basis. After February 24 it may take up to 10 school days for us to make the change and also provide transportation.
Bus information for Stage 4 will be in PowerSchool/Parent Portal by March 1.
Families may elect for their child to participate in a fully virtual learning option.
Stage 4 Dates
Students will receive face-to-face instruction two days per week and will participate in a combination of teacher-led and independent learning for the remaining days of the week.
Students with last names A-K will attend in-person instruction on Mondays and Wednesdays. Students in this group will begin in-person instruction on March 15
Students with last names L-Z will attend in-person instruction on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students in this group will begin in-person instruction on March 16.
Students who attended Western Albemarle during stage 2 and 3 will attend in-person instruction for all four days.
