Winter Break
(NO SCHOOL)
LOST & FOUND:
As many of you know, the Lost and Found at AMS is a resting place for hundreds of student items each month. Water bottles, lunch bags, helmets, sweatshirts, coats, shirts and pants (how does this even happen?). We would love to have these items find their way back to their rightful owners as soon as possible, before the end of each month, because what is left behind will be donated to local charities on the first of each month. So make sure you take your things home before the Winter Break.
Frozen Movie Today After School
The spring musical is going to be Disney's Frozen Junior. Students who haven't seen the movie, or just want to see it again, are invited to a screening in Room 19 today after school. There is no charge to watch the movie, but there will be popcorn, soda and candy for sale, so bring some cash. This benefits the Junior Thespian Troupe here at AMS. Details about the show and auditions will be given out at that time.
Join the Fun with AMS Spirit Days!
Show your School Spirit at AMS on December 19th and 20th.
- December 19th will be the “Ugly Sweater” Day. This can be holiday sweaters, 80’s colorful and gaudy sweaters, etc… just have fun with it!
- December 20th is PJ day! Come in your onesies, robes, slippers, etc… and have a cozy day!
The cafeteria is also getting in on the action on Dec. 19th & 20th. They will be selling hot cocoa and apple cider for .50 cents in the cafeteria before school. This is a fundraiser for the café, so bring your spare change (as you will not be able to charge this to your lunch account). They will also be serving breakfast as usual and this would be a great time to give it a try, if have not ate breakfast in the cafeteria, the cost is $1.50.

Tech Values: Cyber Boundaries Within Your Family Cyber Values and Your Family
February 11, 2020
Join Karen O’Dougherty from Body Basics and Beyond as she guides parents through a conversation on Tech Values. The internet and social media have found their way into our homes and our children’s hands. (And if they haven’t yet, the likelihood is there that they will someday. The internet and social media may not be in your home, but what about when your youth visits other homes?) As parents we need to develop and hold cyber values for our children, much like we do with other values we hold in life, in order for our youth to be safe and to learn how to manage cyber tools. What are your cyber values and how do you hold them? Let’s share and develop a quality list together for you to draw upon and discuss how to hold them in the face of enormous social and peer pressure.
