Mountain Biking on the Trail
For Youth and Adult Riders - Thursday, 9/16/21 @ 5:00pm
Intro to Mountain Biking on the Trail
We would like to garner the interest level of residents in the community to Mountain Biking on the trail. Like any other sporting activity, mountain biking comes with inherent risks, so please be advised, this is not a school district sanctioned event. You join at your own risk.
Mountain biking on the trail is similar to hiking on the trail. The only difference is that we are riding our bikes on single-track trails. Don’t let that scare you! This is why we would like to invite you to this introductory experience so that we can assess the interest level within the district. Based on participation, we may venture into creating a more structured program similar to that of the Huron Valley School district and other schools who have already been successful in this activity.
Cost to Participate: FREE - The first ride on September 9th was great fun. Join us next week for another evening of biking on the trails. See below for more details!
The Requirements
2) Mountain bike – it does not need to be an expensive one, but should at least have the capability of running off road.
3) Helmet – for head protection.
4) Hydration bottle or water bottle
5) The rider must not be new to riding a bike. Must have been riding a bike for at least 2 years.
6) No serious known medical condition that will prevent you from completing the 6.5 miles of mostly single track trail. There are places to bailout if you need to.
The Venue and When
Date: Thursday, September 16, 2021
Meeting place: Milford YMCA field
Time: 5:00 PM (be on time – we will rollout at 5:30 and you do not want to miss the debrief)
For More Information Please Contact: Gio Pascua – 248-978-8465 (call or text)
We will be joining the Huron Valley United Race Club (HVUR club). They have a mature team of children from small kids up to high school students. We believe it would be best to join them for this introductory ride and hopefully emulate the program that they have successfully created.
If you are joining with your child. We ask that you ride with them, if they are unable to complete the course, we will show you where to ‘bailout’ so that you can be on your way.
