A Message From the Principal
If your child is not physically present at school, I appreciate your assistance to ensure they are communicating with their teachers, logging on to Canvas and submitting daily assignments. This will ensure their attendance is correctly recorded for the day and they stay current with classroom assignments.
Our second grading period will be October 13 - December 18, 2020. Students will remain in their current instructional learning selection (in-person or remote learner) for the duration of the second grading period.
At Travis, we are committed to working together for the success of our students. If you have questions or need assistance, please reach out to your child's teachers or the school.

Dropping Off Items- Please note, lunches or items left at home may not be dropped off. If your child forgets their lunch, you can place funds on their lunch account at My School Bucks or they will be able to charge a lunch. This is in an effort to limit the number of people that touch an item so we reduce the possibility of exposure.
Arrival to School On Time - Our instructional day begins at 8:50 a.m. So students do not miss important instruction, we ask that if they are a car rider or walker, they arrive to campus before 8:50 a.m. If your child will eat breakfast in the cafeteria, arrival by 8:30 a.m. will ensure they have plenty of time to eat and get to class before instruction begins at 8:50 a.m. We will begin recording tardies for student who arrive without a doctor's note after 8:50 a.m. for the 2nd grading period beginning on October 13, 2020.
Morning Drop Off Safety -For the safety of all students, we ask that students be dropped off on the curb side in front of the school and not be let out across the street where students must cross the street with traffic.
Car Rider Tags - All cars picking up students in the car rider line must have a car rider tag. If you do not have a tag, please bring your identification to the front office between 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. to receive your tags. As a reminder, all visitors must wear a mask when entering the building.
Mask Requirement - All students and staff will be required to properly wear a mask while in the building and riding the school bus. The mask will follow the same guidelines for clothing per the CISD Student Code of Conduct.
Travis Cell Phone Policy - As stated in the district Elementary & Intermediate Student Handbook, students are allowed to have cell phones on campus. Cell phones must remain turned off during the instructional day and in the student's backpack. If students do not comply with this policy, staff members may confiscate the cell phone and turn them in to the assistant principal. A parent/guardian will need to come to the school to pick up any cell phone that has been confiscated, as it will not be returned to the student once taken up.
Remote Learning Expectations - Our Remote Learners will continue their coursework through Canvas. Remote learning will rely on asynchronous methods - however, teachers will provide the following support:
1. Live or recorded lessons and explanations
2. Office hours or tutorial sessions
3. Opportunities for support and asking questions
Attendance will still be done through engaging in Canvas or communicating with your teacher on the correct day. All teachers will communicate their availability expectations through Canvas, Class Dojo, or parent email communication.

Register for Bus Transportation
Every year students must be registered for bus transportation if they will ride a bus to or from the school. Once registration has been completed online, expect up to a week for a bus to be routed. Until a bus has been routed, parents will need to communicate to the school how the student will get home each day.
Bus service is available to students who live further than one mile from the school.
Please note: Remote learners are not able to register for bus transportation.

Campus Curbside Meal Pick-Up
Beginning Thursday, October 1, Conroe ISD will offer FREE breakfast and lunch to ALL In-Person and Remote/Online students as well as children ages 18 and younger in the community. Students in Remote/Online Instruction and children 18 and younger who are not attending school on campus will pick up free meals curbside on Tuesday and Thursday from 10 AM - 12 PM at the junior high located in their feeder zone.
