What We Are Learning
Math
Place Value in Base Tens
We are currently exploring our bas ten system. We are talking about why when we multiply by 10 the factor goes up one place value, when we multiply by 100 the factor goes up two place values, etc. It is so fun to watch the "ah-ha" moments. We are working up into the millions and down to the thousandths.

Social Studies
This week the 4th graders were working on geography; map skills, learning the continents & oceans, and locating themselves on a map. In 5th grade we are familiarizing ourselves with the United States, its regions, states, and state capitals.
Run the Colonies
The students have started running! We are on our way from Concord, NH to Boston, MA.
Social Curriculum
Peer Buddies: This year Skyline is participating in a peer buddy program. This Friday morning was our first meeting. The students are placed in small groups with 4th, 5th, & 6th graders. As a group they will read books, play math games, & participate in PE activities to form a bond with students outside of their own class & grade. The goal is to create a Skyline community where students are friends with kiddos in all classes & all grades.
Discovery Lab
This week we went to Art, Music, STREAM, and reading research. The students are excited about Discovery Lab and especially cannot wait to start their STREAM projects.
