Our Collective Commitment Corner
Building Our Resource Toolkit Across the Disciplines
Best practices are best practices, regardless of content area or even grade level. Some may wonder that unification of collective PCR3 practices are outside of our reach without programming such as AVID. What we have here, however, is a celebration of talents and beginnings of our own homegrown collection of best practices. Tools for organization, critical thinking, writing, reading, and verbal discourse are being gathered in our HOME DOC Collective Commitment Corner, and although our endeavor is in its infancy, the potential here for our students’ growth is great.
Take a moment today to explore those tools already shared by our high school colleagues. Additionally, when you find success with a particular graphic organizer, rubric, or best practice, commit to housing this tool in our shared folder as well. Common research-based practices are well within our realm as a team and contribute to our collective efficacy. The think, write, pair-share, for example, can and should be used across disciplines and make sense for student learning in any and all portions of our instructional framework. Let’s embrace what we know is best for student learning. Let’s share those resources and build that toolkit, yes, across disciplines!
